Chevrolet Cobalt Service & Repair Manual: Engine Coolant Expansion Tank, Replace

1. Drain engine coolant into suitable container.
2. Reposition coolant expansion tank inlet hose clamp using hose clamp pliers tool No. J-38185, or equivalent.
3. Remove coolant expansion tank inlet hose from expansion tank, Fig. 1.
4. Remove underhood junction block and bracket.
5. Lift coolant expansion tank and reposition expansion tank outlet hose clamp using hose clamp pliers tool No. J-38185, or equivalent.
6. Remove coolant expansion tank outlet hose, Fig. 2.
7. Disconnect coolant level sensor electrical connector, Fig. 3.
8. Remove engine coolant expansion tank from vehicle.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
