| On some models oil pump pickup
can not be removed from pump. Pickup must be replaced with oil pump as a
unit. |
| It is recommended to change oil
filter when replacing oil pump pickup. |
| 1. |
Lift and support vehicle using a suitable
lift. |
| 2. |
Drain engine oil from oil pan. |
| 3. |
Remove oil pan from engine. |
| 4. |
Remove any pickup support bracket fasteners
if equipped. |
| 5. |
Remove pickup mounting fasteners to
oil pump. |
| 6. |
Remove oil pump pickup from pump. |
| 7. |
Reverse procedure to install, note
following: |

a. |
Fill engine oil to specified level. |
| |
b. |
Run engine at idle for approximately
30 seconds and turn OFF. |
| |
c. |
Ensure engine oil is still at specified
level. |

Install the engine support fixture.

Remove the engine mount.
