Chevrolet Cobalt Service & Repair Manual: Brake Pad Service

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assemblies.
2. Tighten suitable C-clamp until piston is compressed into caliper bore. Remove C-clamp.
3. Remove brake caliper lower guide pin bolt.
4. Pivot caliper upward and support aside using suitable wire.
5. Remove brake pads from caliper, Fig. 1 .
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
  a. Inspect brake components.
  b. Bleed brake system as outlined in Brake System Bleed.
