Chevrolet Cobalt Service & Repair Manual: Wiper Transmission, Replace

Remove wiper arm assemblies. |
| 2. |
Disconnect washer tubing from air inlet
screen. |
| 3. |
Remove air inlet grille panel push-in
retainers from panel using door trim pad and garnish clip remover
tool No. J-38778, or equivalent. |
| 4. |
Remove air inlet grille panel from
vehicle. |
| 5. |
Remove wiper drive module. |
| 6. |
Disconnect electrical connector from
wiper motor. |
| 7. |
Remove wiper transmission from wiper
motor crank arm using wiper transmission separator tool No. J-39232,
or equivalent. |
| 8. |
Remove cap from wiper transmission. |
| 9. |
Remove screws and wiper transmission
from tube frame. |
| 10. |
Reverse procedure to install, noting
the following: |

a. |
Torque wiper transmission screws
to 79 inch lbs. |
| |
b. |
Torque wiper drive system module
screws to 88 inch lbs. |

1.
Remove steering column trim covers.
2.
Remove multi-function switch as outlined
in "Multi-Function Switch, Replace."
