Removal
| 1. |
Open rear compartment lid (2). |
| 2. |
Remove rear spoiler, if equipped. |
| 3. |
Remove rear lock cylinder. |
| 4. |
Remove overslam bumpers. |
| 6. |
Remove high mounted stoplamp. |
| 7. |
Remove back up lamps, if equipped. |
| 8. |
Disconnect rear compartment wiring
harness from body harness. |
| 9. |
Remove rear compartment lid-to-hinge
nuts (1), Fig. 1. |
| 10. |
With an assistant, remove rear compartment
lid (2). |

Installation
| 1. |
Transfer components and components
from factory to service rear compartment lid. |
| 2. |
With an assistant, position rear compartment
lid (2) to hinge. |
| 3. |
Install rear compartment lid hinge
nuts (1), Fig. 1.Torque nuts to 89 inch
lbs. |
| 4. |
Adjust compartment lid, as required. |
| 5. |
Connect rear compartment wiring harness
to body harness. |
| 6. |
Install back up lamps, if equipped. |
| 7. |
Install spoiler, if equipped. |
| 8. |
Install lock cylinder. |
| 9. |
Install overslam bumpers. |
| 11. |
Install high mounted stoplamp. |
| 12. |
Close rear compartment lid. |

Adjustment
| 1. |
Adjust rear compartment lid fore-aft
and cross-car by loosening hinge to compartment lid nuts (1),

Adjust front of compartment lid up
and down by loosening hinge to quarter panel bolts (2). Position
rear compartment lid as needed. |
| 3. |
Adjust rear of compartment lid by adjusting
lock striker up and down. |
| 4. |
Tighten rear compartment lid hinge
to compartment lid nuts (1). Torque nuts to 89 inch lbs. |
| 5. |
Tighten rear compartment lid hinge
to quarter panel bolts (2). Torque nuts to 89 inch lbs. |
| 6. |
Tighten latch striker bolts when adjustments
are complete. Torque bolts to 89 inch lbs. |

Remove rear bumper impact bar bolts

Raise and support rear compartment
lid.

Remove compartment lid hinge bolts
(2), Fig. 1.from hinge.
