Chevrolet Cobalt Service & Repair Manual: Component Replacement

Master Cylinder

1. On Vibe models, remove air filter hose clamp and hose from throttle body.
2. On all models, disconnect fluid level sensor retainer and electrical connector.
3. Drain master cylinder reservoir brake fluid into suitable container.
4. Plug hose.
5. Disconnect master cylinder brake pipes. Plug open pipes.
6. Remove mounting nuts and master cylinder.
7. Remove reservoir, as required.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Bleed hydraulic system as outlined in Brake System Bleed.
