Chevrolet Cobalt Service & Repair Manual / Steering & Suspension / Suspension Strut Mount Assembly R&R

1. Remove the strut upper mounting nuts, Fig. 1.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the tire and wheel.
4. Disconnect the stabilizer shaft link from the strut assembly, Fig. 2.
5. Remove the strut lower bolts, nuts and anti-lock brake system (ABS) wiring bracket, if equipped, Fig. 3.
6. Remove the strut.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
  a. Torque strut upper mounting nuts to 15 ft. lbs.
  b. Torque strut lower mounting nuts to 89 ft. lbs.
  c. Torque stabilizer shaft link nut to 48 ft. lbs.
